PM SHREE Schools are being started by the Central Government. This is a central government scheme whose aim is to transform government schools in India into modern, smart, and high-quality education centers. This scheme is also based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. PM SHREE Schools will have smart classrooms, digital learning, modern science labs, modern computer labs, and will also focus on skill-based education, sports, and holistic development. Many Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools) are also being brought under this scheme.

The full form of CM SHREE is Chief Minister Schools of High Repute & Innovation.
CM SHREE Schools are being started by state governments. Their main aim is to develop government schools in any state with modern infrastructure, smart classrooms, quality teachers, and according to the standards of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Each state can develop these schools according to its own education policy and budget.
